A shooting on Friday left one man dead and another injured in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after multiple rounds were fired into an SUV.

The Shooting

The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. in the 4800 block of Annette Street. The driver of the vehicle was able to drive approximately five blocks to a nearby gas station at 6556 Airline Highway.

Victims

William Hawkins Jr., 45, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the black Nissan SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to a hospital, and his condition has not been released.

Police Response

Police officers were already at the gas station on an unrelated matter when the SUV arrived with multiple bullet holes.

Investigation

Authorities have not identified a motive or any suspects at this time. Baton Rouge police continue to investigate the shooting.
