A 21-year-old motorcyclist from Slidell was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in St. Tammany Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Fatal Motorcycle Crash in St. Tammany Parish
State troopers identified the victim as Gavin B. Dietrich, 21, of Slidell.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. on U.S. 11 near North Lakeview Drive in St. Tammany Parish.
Authorities said Dietrich was riding a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R when the accident occurred.

Motorcycle Left Roadway During Curve
According to Louisiana State Police Troop L, investigators believe Dietrich was speeding before the crash.
Troopers said he failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the roadway into a gravel parking area.
The motorcycle then reportedly went over an embankment.
Rider Ejected During Crash
Police stated that Dietrich was thrown from the motorcycle after it left the roadway.
He reportedly struck coastal shoreline riprap and suffered fatal injuries.
Authorities confirmed he died at the scene.
Investigation Still Ongoing
Troopers said routine toxicology tests are pending as part of the investigation.
Officials also noted it is currently unknown whether Dietrich was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
