A Louisiana man has been arrested in Texas after authorities accused him of forcing a woman and three young children into a vehicle at gunpoint before opening fire during an attempted escape.
The incident, which began at a gas station in Thibodaux and continued into Terrebonne Parish, led to multiple attempted murder charges. Investigators say the victims narrowly avoided serious injury despite gunfire striking the vehicle.
Louisiana Man Arrested in Texas Following Attempted Murder Investigation
Jordan Williams of Thibodaux has been arrested in Pasadena, Texas, in connection with a violent incident that occurred in Louisiana last month.
According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Williams was taken into custody on June 2 and is currently awaiting extradition back to Louisiana.
Authorities allege that Williams was involved in a dangerous confrontation that placed a woman and three young children at risk.
The arrest came after investigators gathered evidence linking him to the incident and coordinated with law enforcement agencies in Texas.
Woman and Children Allegedly Forced Into Vehicle
According to investigators, the incident began on May 22, 2026, at a gas station in Thibodaux.
Authorities allege that Williams forced a woman and three children into a vehicle while armed with a firearm. The children involved were extremely young, ranging in age from just three months old to four years old.
After entering the vehicle, the group travelled into Terrebonne Parish, where the situation allegedly escalated further.
Investigators say the victims remained under threat during the encounter.
Gunfire Erupts During Attempted Escape
According to the sheriff’s office, the woman later attempted to drive away with the children in an effort to escape.
Authorities allege that Williams responded by opening fire on the vehicle.
Although no one inside the vehicle was physically injured, investigators reported that several bullets struck the vehicle, leaving visible damage.
Officials stated that bullet holes were found in the rear seating area where the children had been sitting.
The outcome could have been far more tragic, and authorities have described the incident as extremely dangerous.
Multiple Charges Filed Against Suspect
Following the investigation, Williams was charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder.
The charges relate to the woman and the three children who were allegedly inside the vehicle when shots were fired.
He also faces a charge of aggravated criminal damage to property due to the damage caused by the gunfire.
The case remains under investigation, and additional charges may be filed as authorities continue reviewing evidence.
Previous Warrants Linked to Same Victim
According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Williams already had several outstanding warrants through the Houma Police Department before his latest arrest.
Authorities stated that those warrants stem from an earlier incident involving the same female victim.
Investigators also revealed that the Thibodaux Police Department is expected to seek additional warrants related to incidents that allegedly occurred within its jurisdiction.
The existence of previous warrants has become an important part of the broader investigation.
Extradition Process Underway
Williams remains in custody in Texas while authorities work to return him to Louisiana.
The extradition process will allow Louisiana prosecutors to formally pursue the charges filed against him.
Once returned to the state, Williams is expected to appear before a court to face the allegations.
As with all criminal cases, he remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
