East Baton Rouge Parish, LA — A teenager was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when they were shot while getting off a school bus on Cooper Drive, according to sources and law enforcement.
Shooting Reported Near Cooper Drive
Officials received a call just after 3:01 p.m. about a shooting at the 11000 block of Cooper Drive, near Brownsfield Drive. When deputies arrived, they found a teen shooting victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition. East Baton Rouge Parish Schools confirmed that the teen was a student at Northeast High School.
Suspect Vehicle and Arrests
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO), a vehicle approached, fired at the teen, and then fled the scene. Deputies located and stopped the suspect vehicle about seven miles away, near the intersection of Greenwell Springs Port Hudson Road and LA‑410.
Three suspects were taken into custody following the traffic stop. Authorities have not yet released details about the identities of those arrested.
