The 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office has reported several guilty pleas during the week of March 16-20, 2026. The 23rd District includes Ascension, Assumption, and St. James parishes. The information was provided by the office of District Attorney Ricky Babin.
Ascension Parish Cases:
Ethin Butler (23) pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons. He was sentenced to 1 year in prison with time served and 1 year of supervised probation.
Corey Cheong (32) pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery – Strangulation. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison with time served, but the sentence was suspended with 1 year of probation.
Mark Darby (26) pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with time served.
Liam Frazier (21) pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons. He was sentenced to 1 year in prison with time served and placed on 1 year of supervised probation.
Major Jones IV (32) pled guilty to Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison, which was suspended, with 3 years of probation.
David Macaluso (36) pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (2 counts), and Illegal Carrying of Weapons. Sentencing was deferred pending a pre-sentence investigation.
Amber Courteaux (39) pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Worth $25,000 or More. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended, with 5 years of probation.
Clarence Dunbar II (20) pled guilty to Second Degree Battery. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison, suspended, with 3 years of probation.
Adam Francois (28) pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Substance. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended, with 3 years of probation.
Brian Johnson (24) pled guilty to Aggravated Assault of a Dating Partner with Child Endangerment. He was sentenced to 1 year in prison, suspended, with 1 year of probation.
Chet Ourso (28) pled guilty to Simple Burglary (3 counts). He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, suspended, with 3 years of probation.
Jeaon Pindexter (18) pled guilty to Manslaughter and Obstruction of Justice. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison with time served.
Tevin Tureaud (34) pled guilty to Theft Valued between $1,000 and $5,000. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison, suspended, with 3 years of probation.
Michael Tyler (55) pled guilty to Third Degree Rape. Sentencing deferred pending a pre-sentence investigation.
David Williams (62) pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense. Sentencing deferred pending a pre-sentence investigation.
Baylin Wyatt (20) pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison, suspended, with 2 years of probation.
Nathan Herig (47) pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison, suspended, with 3 years of probation.
Trevis Stevens (29) pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoids. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended, with 5 years of probation.
Richard Morris (41) pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms (2 counts). He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, suspended, with 3 years of probation.
Leon Wilson (27) pled guilty to Bank Fraud and Monetary Instrument Abuse. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, suspended, with 4 years of probation.
Terrence Taylor (25) pled guilty to Theft Valued between $1,000 and $5,000. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison, suspended, with 2 years of probation.
Chaz Delatte (22) pled guilty to Organized Retail Theft. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended, with 18 months of probation.
Christopher Thomas (24) pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Simple Burglary. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended, with 3 years of probation.
Assumption Parish Cases:
- Kaitlyn Landry (30) pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance. She was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
- David Crain (28) pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended, with 18 months of probation.
- John Westerfield (33) pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule III Controlled Substance. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison, suspended, with probation.
- Seth Pujol (35) pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule III Controlled Substance. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison, suspended, with probation.
- Nicole Gros (45) pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
- Devin Clay (34) pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, with 1 year to serve and 3 years of probation.
St. James Parish:
There were no new court cases in St. James Parish this week.
The 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced a range of guilty pleas from Ascension, Assumption, and St. James parishes during the week of March 16-20, 2026. The cases included convictions for crimes such as illegal possession of firearms, drug trafficking, domestic abuse, and theft.
