Three men from Georgia attempted to burglarize the multi-million dollar mansion of Larsa Pippen, a star of “Real Housewives of Miami,” in Pinecrest, Florida on Sunday, but their plan was quickly foiled when the home’s alarm system alerted authorities.
The Attempted Burglary
The trio, identified as Treison Lachae Booker (23), Cortez Daymon Johnson (23), and Elijah Eugene Russell (18), shattered several windows in an attempt to break into the luxurious mansion. However, they were unable to enter the property before police arrived on the scene, thanks to the alarm system.
While Larsa Pippen, the 51-year-old ex-wife of NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, was not at home at the time of the attempted burglary, she watched the incident unfold via surveillance video.
Quick Arrests and Chaotic Fleeing
Pinecrest police arrived shortly after the attempted break-in and found the suspects trying to flee the scene by car. However, the trio’s escape was short-lived as they crashed into another vehicle and then plowed through a fence. Pinecrest Police Chief Jason Cohen recounted the chaotic pursuit, stating that the suspects were “frazzled” by the crash and scattered in different directions.
Chief Cohen personally captured Russell, who was attempting to calmly walk away from the crash scene. Cohen described the situation, saying, “It’s just me and him. I get out of my car and I order him to the ground.”
Foot Pursuit and Canal Escape
Russell, who already had an outstanding arrest warrant from Georgia, fled on foot, ultimately jumping into a nearby canal to evade capture. Chief Cohen reflected on the pursuit, saying, “If he didn’t jump into the canal, he probably had me,” noting that it was his first foot pursuit in 15 years.
Charges and Bail
The three suspects were arrested and are facing charges for attempted burglary. They are being held on bonds ranging from $7,500 to $8,000.
Larsa Pippen’s Mansion
Pippen’s mansion, purchased in late 2024, was highlighted in an exclusive Page Six tour last Christmas. The sprawling estate features unique and luxurious details, such as a 1,000-pound limestone table, a glass staircase, and custom artwork, including a model of Pippen created with Swarovski crystals.
The mansion also boasts an all-glass staircase and a luxury walk-in closet filled with designer labels, as well as a tiara that Pippen humorously described as something every “princess” needs.
The attempted burglary has left the Miami-area community shocked, but thanks to the swift actions of law enforcement, the criminals were quickly apprehended.
