Trans woman is alleged with harassing and threatening cop's wife on Long Island, police report

A Long Island woman has been arrested for allegedly harassing the family of a Suffolk County police officer who arrested her last year.

Woman Arrested for Harassing Cop’s Family

Beatrix Lacroix, 31, of Deer Park, was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment after allegedly calling the wife of the officer who had arrested her following a car crash on October 23, 2025. The crash left Lacroix facing 12 charges, including speeding and running stop signs.

The phone call took place on May 16, 2026, and authorities said she also sent a text implying she knew where the officer lived. Investigators found photos of the officer’s home on Lacroix’s phone.

Police Response

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina said:
“We expect our officers to carry out their duties professionally and without fear that arrests made in the line of duty will lead to intimidation, harassment, or retaliation against them or their families. Attempts to infiltrate or target the personal lives of our officers are unacceptable.”

Court Proceedings

Lacroix was arrested two days after the call and arraigned on May 19 at First District Court in Central Islip. A future court date has been scheduled, and an order of protection was granted for the officer’s family.

Public Safety Concerns

Suffolk County PBA President Lou Civello called the case “chilling,” noting that police officers’ families should be safe in their own homes. He stressed the need for tougher laws to prevent harassment and protect law enforcement families.
