A narcotics investigation in Ascension Parish culminated in the arrest of Ronald Bennet, 63, of Prairieville, and Dawn Grayson, 48, of Geismar, following a multi-agency operation targeting methamphetamine trafficking.
The investigation, carried out by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, Street Crimes Unit, District 3 Patrol, Gonzales Police Department, and the DEA Middle District, uncovered illegal narcotics sales occurring from Bennet’s residence.
Arrests and Drug Seizure
Detectives learned that Bennet was selling methamphetamine from his home and had active felony warrants out of Livingston Parish. Bennet and Grayson were observed leaving the residence in a vehicle, leading to a traffic stop where both suspects were apprehended. During the stop, authorities discovered methamphetamine in their possession.
A subsequent search of Bennet’s residence resulted in the seizure of additional methamphetamine, seven firearms, and digital scales, which are commonly used in narcotics distribution.

- 7 counts of Illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of CDS

- 3 counts of Failure to appear
