Gonzales, Louisiana – The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office says two men are in custody after a drive‑by shooting in early March that damaged vehicles but left no one injured.

What Happened

Shortly after 2 a.m. on March 11, deputies responded to a report of gunfire at a home on West Mill Grove Drive in Gonzales. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles that had been shot at. Both vehicles were empty, and no one was injured in the incident.

Investigation and Arrests

During the investigation, detectives located a vehicle believed to have been used in the drive‑by shooting and identified the registered owner as 21‑year‑old Brock Burgess of Geismar. Burgess is also believed to have been the driver at the time of the shooting.

Detectives also identified 21‑year‑old Caden Holland of Prairieville, who they believe was the shooter.

The sheriff’s office says the shooting appears to have been targeted.

Charges Filed

Burgess and Holland were both booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and face several charges, including:

  • Drive‑by shooting
  • Illegal use of weapons
  • Two counts of aggravated damage to property
  • Obstruction of justice
