A Sulphur couple has been arrested after their three young children tested positive for methamphetamine, authorities say.

Sulphur Parents Arrested After Children Test Positive for Meth

Christopher Casey Romero, 36, and Veronica Kay Ancelet, 27, were taken into custody Wednesday following an investigation by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. Their three children, all under the age of six, reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine.

The Department of Children and Family Services removed the children from the home and alerted law enforcement on Friday after the drug tests came back positive.

Charges and Bond

Romero and Ancelet each face three counts of cruelty to juveniles. Both are being held on $600,000 bonds, according to authorities.

This case highlights the dangers of drug exposure in households with young children and the importance of swift action by child protective services and law enforcement.
