The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) is currently searching for Matthew H. Gowins, 38, who is wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred Thursday evening in the Oak Grove area of Natchitoches.
Wanted Charges
Gowins is wanted on multiple charges related to the domestic violence incident, including:
- Domestic Abuse Battery – Strangulation
- Domestic Abuse Battery – Child Endangerment
- Domestic Abuse Battery – Serious Bodily Injury
The victim was transported to a medical center following the incident, and a child was reportedly present during the altercation. Authorities say Gowins fled the scene and is considered a potential threat.
Physical Description and Vehicle Information
Gowins is described as:
- Height: Approximately 6’7”
- Weight: Around 275 pounds
- Hair: Black
- Eyes: Brown
He was last seen driving a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu with Louisiana license plate 404BRD.
Possible Weapon and Expertise in Wooded Areas
According to NPSO, Gowins may be armed with a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Investigators also noted that Gowins is very familiar with wooded areas, which may make him harder to locate.
