A minor car accident in Minnesota reportedly turned into a terrifying shooting incident that left a mother seriously injured in front of her young daughter.

Authorities say the woman was leaving a party with her 5-year-old child when another driver allegedly chased her down and shot her in the neck after a small collision between vehicles.

The shocking case has led to the arrest of a husband and wife, with police filing serious criminal charges against them.

Minnesota Woman Shot After Minor Car Crash

According to investigators, the incident happened in Columbia Heights, a city located just north of Minneapolis in Anoka County, Minnesota.

The woman had reportedly attended a prom send-off party with her daughter. While leaving the gathering in her SUV, her vehicle allegedly made slight contact with another parked car behind her.

Police say the small fender bender quickly escalated into violence.

Authorities identified the suspects as 38-year-old Cordaryle Frank-Allen Frost and 37-year-old Cynthia Victoria Frost.

Suspects Allegedly Chased the Mother and Child

Reports say the Frosts got into their vehicle after the crash and drove away. The mother also left the area with her daughter.

However, about a block away from the party, the suspects allegedly performed something similar to a PIT maneuver, forcing the woman to stop her SUV.

Investigators say the suspects then got out of their vehicle and began yelling at the mother while threatening to assault her.

Fearing for her safety, the woman drove away again. But according to authorities, the suspects chased her once more.

Mother Shot in the Neck While Driving

As the chase continued, the woman suddenly heard a gunshot and immediately lost control of her body.

Authorities say she had been shot in the neck.

Her SUV crossed the roadway and eventually stopped in a grassy area near 53rd Avenue Northeast and University Avenue Northeast in Fridley.

The woman’s 5-year-old daughter reportedly got out of the SUV and ran around asking nearby people for help after the shooting.

The victim suffered a spinal cord injury, though officials have not released the full extent of her condition.

Doctors later performed surgery and reportedly removed bullet fragments from her neck.

Couple Arrested Following Investigation

Police arrested Cordaryle Frost and Cynthia Frost on Monday following the investigation.

Cordaryle Frost is currently being held in the Anoka County Jail. He faces serious charges, including:

  • First-degree assault causing great bodily harm
  • Drive-by shooting toward a person with dangerous weapons

Authorities said Frost denied involvement in the shooting after his arrest.

Court records show Cynthia Frost initially faced the same charges as her husband. However, she was later released from jail on Wednesday.

Cordaryle Frost Held on $2 Million Bail

According to jail records, Cordaryle Frost remains behind bars under a $2 million bail.

The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing, and authorities may release additional details as the case moves forward.
