A North Carolina father was fatally shot while trying to protect his teenage daughter during a violent domestic dispute involving her boyfriend, according to police. Authorities say the incident began as an argument between two teenagers before escalating into a deadly shooting that left one person dead and another seriously injured.
North Carolina Father Killed While Defending Daughter
Police in Concord, North Carolina, have charged 17-year-old Keshaun Tirrell Degraffenreid as an adult in connection with the shooting death of 47-year-old Lester Jones.
According to the Concord Police Department, the incident took place shortly after midnight on Monday at a home on Bedlington Drive Northwest. Investigators say Degraffenreid was at the residence with his 16-year-old girlfriend when the two became involved in an argument.
Authorities allege that the disagreement quickly escalated and turned physical, leading to a tragic chain of events.

According to court documents, Degraffenreid allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face during the confrontation.
