The Riverside Academy baseball team is ranked 13th in the state in the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association’s Class 1A preseason poll which was released this week. The Rebels are under the direction of new head coach Marty Luquet, who spent last year as an assistant. In a 24-year career Luquet compiled a record of  447-251. The team returned six starters from last year’s squad, which played only a handful of games before the season was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 2021 Rebels started the season with a 4-0 loss to H.L. Bourgeois. They play at Pearl River on Friday.
