Riverside Academy junior Rylee Moore won the title of Miss Teen Andouille at the annual pageant held Dec. 4 in LaPlace. Rylee will represent St. John the Baptist Parish and the annual Andouille Festival throughout her year-long reign.

Andouille is a smoked pork sausage produced and sold locally. LaPlace, Louisiana bills itself as “The Andouille Capital of the World,” and holds an annual festival in its honor. The 2020 festival was canceled due to Covid-19 protocols; the 2021 festival was canceled due to widespread damage in the region from Hurricane Ida.
