Some of Riverside Academy’s alumni athletes have made headlines in recent weeks for their accomplishments.

Former Rebels basketball player Bria Neal (Class of 2019), now a junior at Howard Payne University, was recently named to the All-American Southwest Conference team as an honorable mention. Neal, a 5-foot-7 junior guard, averaged 12.5 points and 8.4 rebounds in 24 games for the Lady Jackets.

Former Rebels softball player Lexi Johnson (Class of 2021), now a junior at Southeastern Louisiana University,  was named Southland Conference Hitter of the Week twice in February.  Over the first nine games of the season, she led the Southland Conference with a .615 batting average, 16 hits and 13 RBI, while ranking among the league leaders in runs (nine), triples (two) and slugging percentage (1.038).

Lastly,  former Rebels basketball player Jared Butler has signed a two-year contract with the Oklahoma Thunder of the NBA. He made his debut with his new team on March 3.
