Marching Pride of Riverside wins Sweepstakes Trophy

Riverside’s band earned the Sweepstakes Award at this week’s LMEA Assessment held in Gray.

The Marching Pride of Riverside added some new hardware to its trophy case this week after bringing home the Sweepstakes Trophy from the annual Louisiana Music Educators Association assessment held Tuesday at H.L. Bourgeois High School in Gray. Riverside’s concert band received superior ratings in both stage performance and sight reading, earning them the ultimate prize — a nice trophy.

Next up for the group is a trip to OrlandoFest, a band competition in Orlando, Fla. The group departs on March 22.

Riverside’s band celebrates it success at the LMEA Assessment held on March 14 in Gray.
