The Riverside Academy Rebels will open their second season under coach Lee Roussel Friday night at 7 p.m. against St. Thomas Aquinas in Hammond.
The Rebels are coming off a stellar jamboree game which resulted in a 26-6 win over Bogalusa.
The running game was working for the Rebels as they scored three rushing touchdowns being split between Dedric Lastie (two) and Martrell “Duke” Henry. The passing game was also was clicking as first-year quarterback Brock Bourgeois threw one touchdown to Mason Smith. He also connected on a 65-yard reception to Brennan Maus. The defense got the job done holding the Lumberjacks to only one touchdown.
