After two losses to begin their season, the Lady Rebel volleyball team defeated St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday night in a five-game battle.
The Rebels lost the the first set 25-15. They later came back to win the second set 26-24, and the third set 25-14. After losing the fourth set 25-21, they finally finished the game with a 15-6 win in the fifth set.
Senior Courtney Bordelon led the team with 16 digs. Chloe St. Pierre had 10 kills and 10 digs. Layla Price and Bayli Melancon each had nine kills. Amber Palermo had 8 kills and Corrin Cashio had seven. Cashio also had four aces.
“It was a true team effort,” Bordelon said.
The Lady Rebels lost a tough battle to Lutcher on Tuesday, 12-25, 15-25, 20-25.
The team will travel to Gray this weekend to compete in the H.L Bourgeois tournament.
