The Rebels head into a showdown this week.

The Riverside Academy Rebels overcame the Country Day Cajuns 44-14 in a non-district game at Mickey Roussel Field last Friday night, but they are gearing up for a showdown this week.

Riverside (4-1) will travel to  Tony Porter Field in Metairie this week to take on the undefeated St. Martin’s Saints and the nation’s top running back, Harlem Berry, in their District 9-1A opener.

The Rebels used a balanced attack to topple Country Day, rushing for 209 yards and passing for 209.

Dedric Lastie rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries with three receptions for 49 yards. Kendrick Johnson rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries and added two catches for 19 yards. Quarterback Brock Bourgeois completed 9 of 16 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns, one to Brennan Maus for 5 yards and one to Mason Smith for 70 yards. Jaedon Butler also had two catches for 62 yards.
