The Riverside Academy Rebels football team may have been outsized by Class 4A opponent L.B. Landry Friday night, but they managed to overcome that with a 27-12 victory.
The Rebels run game was nothing short of what it has been all season with running back Dedric Lastie running for 194 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries. Lastie also had five catches for 43 yards. Quarterback Brock Bourgeois completed 10 of 14 passes for 78 yards.
The star of the show was the Rebel defense, which forced three turn overs. Senior defensive back Jaedon Butler forced a fumble and junior cornerback Kaden Brumfield had back-to-back interceptions for the Rebel defense.
The Riverside Academy Rebels will take on the Varnado Wildcats Friday night at 76er p.m. at Mickey Roussel Field and will celebrate Senior Night.
