The Riverside Academy Rebels beat the Varnado Wildcats in a 49-0 blowout Friday at Mickey Roussel Field. The Riverside Academy rushing attack was nothing short of stellar.
Junior running back Dedric Lastie ran for 241 yards and five touchdowns on 15 carries. Kenrick Johnson also ran for 41 yards on two carries.
The Rebels defense was on their game Friday preserving the shutout. Senior defensive back Jaedon Butler had a pick 6 on the Varnado 38-yard line.
The Rebels will go back on the road this Friday to take on the Crescent City Christian Crusaders at 7 p.m. at Muss Bertolino Field in Metairie. A victory would assure the Rebels of a district championship.
