The Riverside Academy soccer program will head into the 2023-24 season with a fresh start.
Both the girls and boys teams have new head coaches and high hopes for success. The girls will kick off on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. at Lutcher. The boys are scheduled to play their first match on Nov. 30 at Port Allen. Both teams will begin District play on Jan. 3 at home against St. Charles Catholic. The girls start at 5:30 p.m. and boys will follow.
The girls team has two new coaches, Madison Roussel and Gracie Podufalski, who are both Rebel alumni and former soccer players.
“I am very excited for this season,” said Roussel. “We have quite a few girls that are new to soccer but have improved tremendously so far. With our first game coming up on the 21st, Coach Gracie and I are very confident in this team.”
The boys new head coach is Bobby Kelly, who hopes to improve the team’s record from last year.
