After finishing the regular season 9-1 and winning the District 9-1A title for the second year in a row, several members of the Riverside Academy Rebels football team have been named to the All-District team selected by the coaches. The Rebels placed 23 players in All-District spots, reflecting the team’s dominance of the league.
Junior running back Dedric Lastie was selected Co-Offensive Most Valuable Player. Senior defensive lineman Amiree Alexander was the unanimous choice for Defensive MVP.
Named to the first team offense were: quarterback Brock Bourgeois (Soph.); running back Dedric Lastie (Jr.); wide receiver Kenric Johnson (8th); tight end Mason Smith (Sr.); tight end Brennan Maus (Sr.); offensive lineman Amiree Alexander (Sr.); offensive lineman Noah Trepagnier (Sr.); offensive lineman Craig Matt (Sr.); punter Cameron Matt (Fr.).
Named to the first team defense were: defensive lineman Amiree Alexander (Sr.); defensive lineman, Dayton Gipson (Sr.); defensive lineman Ahmad Cage, (Fr..); defensive lineman Chance Tyler (Jr.); linebacker Kaleb Brumfield (Jr.); defensive back Jared Campbell (Sr.); defensive back Jaedon Butler (Sr.).
Named to the second team offense were: offensive lineman Cooper Emmons (Sr.); offensive lineman Taye Drake (Sr.); place kicker Craig Matt (Sr.).
Named to the second team defense were: linebacker Brody Vicknair (Fr.); linebacker Cameron Galvez (Sr.); linebacker Wayne Hymel (Sr.); defensive back Kaden Brumfield (Jr.); defensive back Jace Trosclair (So.).
Coach Lee Roussel was named Coach of the Year.
