The Riverside Academy girl soccer season ended on Thursday, Feb. 1 with an 8-0 loss to St. Charles Catholic in the bi-district round of the Division IV playoffs.
The Lady Rebels reached the playoffs as the No. 29 seed after finishing the season 5-11-1 under first-year coach Madison Roussel. The team will graduate four seniors: Camille Mistretta, Courtney Bordelon, Amber Palermo, Corrin Cashio.
Over the winter break, the Lady Rebels played in a tournament at Mandeville High School, going 2-1 in three matches. The team won against Washington Marion and lost to East Jefferson and Central Lafourche. On January 2 they lost to St. Charles Catholic, 7-1. Senior Amber Palermo scored the goal.
On January 6, the team beat South Lafourche 2-1. Scorers were Kasey Bourgeois and Amber Palermo.
After a 2-1 loss to Pearl River on Jan. 13, Riverside beat South Lafourche 3-0, lost to Covenant Christian 8-0, then beat St. Martin’s 8-0.
The regular season ended on Jan. 23 with a tie against Houma Christian.
