Riverside Academy’s Southern Sweethearts announced their 2024-2025 dance team members after two weeks of training and tryout clinics.

The new members are seventh grader Brinley Roccaforte and eighth grader Joanelle Rojo.

Returning members are freshman Baylee Badeaux, D’Nia Hammothe, and Noelle Cosse; sophomore member Saylor Deroche; junior member Kye Bourgeois; and seniors Ella Champagne, Teryn Davis, and Mia Saijas.  Saijas has been named 2024-2025 dance team Captain for the second year.

Dance team sponsor Meah Badeaux said: “During the workshops all of the girls showed so much growth and were really hard working.  The day of the actual tryouts I was beyond excited. There was no nervous energy as I knew that everything would fall into place as it should. The judges couldn’t stop raving on the talent that we had here at our little school! I was truly beaming with pride for our girls. I am especially excited for the three seniors. This is their year. I can’t wait to get to work with the new team, this will be a special one.”
