The Riverside Academy Lady Rebels softball team scored one run in the first inning then had to hold on to beat Highland Baptist, 1-0. The win puts the defending Division IV state champions in the quarterfinal round. The Lady Rebels will host Sacred Heart Friday at 5 p.m. The Rebels beat Sacred Heart 14-5 in the quarterfinals a year ago.
Layla Price scored the only run of the night, batted in by Corrin Cashio. Amber Palermo pitched six inning, allowing one hit and striking out 10. Kylie Bordelon came in for the seventh inning and recorded her 200th carreer strikeout while striking out the side.
