Homecoming Pep Rally Gets Rebels Fired Up

Kallie Bourgeois, Editor

With a little bit of juice and a whole lot of energy, Coach Pierce Bonck led the Riverside Rebels through the annual Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday in advance of the big game to be played Friday night against Houma Christian.

On the final day of Spirit Week, with the students dressed in RA colors, coach Pierce led the roll call, taught some new cheers, and introduced the homecoming court. The Marching Pride of Riverside performed, as did the Color Guard, the Southern Sweethearts dance team and the cheerleaders. All RA alumni were invited to center court to be recognized.

The annual highlight of the event is the highly competitive Homecoming Court Balloon Pop Challenge, during which a balloon is tied to the ankle of each member of the court. All the other members try to pop each other’s balloons. The last one with an unpopped balloon is the winner.  Camryn Loving came out victorious.
