Coach Lee Roussel addresses the Rebels prior to Friday night’s game at Houma Christian.

Neither the Houma Christian Warriors nor the smoke from a nearby marsh fire could stop the Riverside Academy Rebels  as they cruised to a 40-7 non-district victory in Schriever Friday night.

The Rebels wasted little time getting things going as running back Dedric Lastie the first of his four touchdowns in the first five minutes of the game.

Lastie finished with 242 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries with three receptions for 53 yards. Quarterback Brock Bourgeois completed 10 of 20 passes for 135 yards and one touchdown to Brennan Maus. Kendrick Johnson ran for one touchdown and had four catches for 53 yards. Wide receiver Jerone Ordon had two catches for 39 yards.

The Rebels will take on the Country Day Cajuns Friday night at 7 p.m. at Mickey Roussel Field for Homecoming.
