Classes resumed Friday after closure due to threat

SCHOOL CLOSURE

Riverside Academy was closed on Thursday, Nov. 9 due to a threat made against the school.

According to school administrators, an unspecified message was left in one of the restrooms and was reported to the front office and to local law enforcement. School principal Holly Haase sent a message out to faculty and parents Wednesday evening announcing the school would be closed on Thursday citing the safety of the students.

School resumed on Friday, Nov. 9 with St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s deputies on campus. The investigation is continuing.
