More Swimmers Qualify For State

Swimmers qualify for state and earn personal bests.

With only three meets left, the Riverside Academy swim team produced more state qualifiers on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the River Parish Invitational at St. James Aquatic Center in Lutcher.

There were five swimmers that qualified for state including:

Kallie Bourgeois — 100 Yard Freestyle

Sofia Galvez — 200 Yard Freestyle

Camryn Loving — 200 Yard IM

Brennan Maus — 100 Yard Freestyle

Brody Vicknair — 50 Yard Freestyle

Senior MaKayah LaRose placed second overall in the 50 Yard Freestyle. Senior Camryn Loving placed third overall in the 50 Yard Freestyle and has qualified in six out of eight individual events. Several of the swimmers received personal bests this meet.

The swim team’s next meet will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at St. James Aquatic Center in Lutcher. Come show your support for our swimmers!
